Retail Portal

A separate retail-specific wizard that handles individual, joint, UGMA, IRA, and trust accounts. Dynamic step sequence — adds a co-applicant flow for joint accounts, spousal consent for community-property states, and a custodian/minor flow for UGMA.

What this screen is

The retail account opening flow. We adapt the steps to your specific account type — joint accounts add a co-applicant section, UGMA adds a minor's details section, community-property joints add spousal consent.

Retail-focused wizard with dynamic step sequence built by buildSteps(acctType). Each account type variant maps to FINRA suitability rules, IRS dependency rules (UGMA), and state-specific marital property law (community-property joints).

The buildSteps() function returns a sequence based on account type. UGMA appends minorInfo. Joint accounts append coPersonal. Community-property variants (joint_cp, joint_cp_ros, joint_tbe) additionally append spousalConsent.

Account types supported

Individual — single owner, standard suitability
Joint — JTWROS (Joint Tenants with Right of Survivorship) — survivor inherits automatically; ideal for spouses
Joint — Tenants in Common — defined ownership %, independently transferable
Joint — Tenants by Entirety — married couples only; strongest creditor protection
Joint — Community Property — CP states only: AZ, CA, ID, LA, NV, NM, TX, WA, WI
Joint — CP with Survivorship — CP + automatic survivorship
UGMA — uniform gift to minors; custodian-controlled
IRA — traditional / Roth retirement accounts

Why each variant exists

State Marital Property Law Community-property variants require explicit spousal consent before account opening in the nine CP states. The wizard appends a dedicated spousal-consent step automatically.

UGMA / UTMA Acts UGMA accounts are owned by a minor but managed by a custodian. The wizard collects the minor's DOB and SSN separately from the custodian's identity.

IRS § 7701 + W-9 secondary signer Joint accounts require a tax certification for each owner. The wizard appends tax_cert_*_secondary fields when account type starts with joint.
